What to bringBook a slot
Do not sign it before you arrive
A notary witnesses your signature. If the document is already signed by the time it reaches us there is nothing left to witness, and the whole appointment has to happen again — with a fresh copy, and usually a fresh fee.
Bring it unsigned  —  Every page, exactly as it was sent to you
Don't date it either  —  It gets dated on the day, in front of us
Leave the boxes you're unsure about  —  An empty one we can discuss beats a wrong one we can't undo
Bring the whole document  —  Including the pages you think are irrelevant. They generally aren't
This is the single most common reason an appointment is wasted, which is why it appears here, in the confirmation email, and again when you book.
What to bring
Any appointment at all  —  Photo ID, and something with your address on it from the last three months
A power of attorney  —  The unsigned document, and the full name and address of whoever it is for
A company document  —  The company's registration details, and evidence you're allowed to sign for it
A certified copy  —  The ORIGINAL. A photocopy of a photocopy certifies nothing at all
Anything for another country  —  The country's name, and whatever instructions they sent you, word for word
A translation  —  Both versions, plus the translator's details if one has already been used
If you aren't sure which of those you are, send us the first page before booking. We read it the same day and tell you what to bring — that costs nothing, and it saves the journey.
What a notary does not dobook
Advise on the contentsWe verify who you are, and that you signed freely knowing what you were signing. Whether the document is a good idea for you is a different professional's job, and we'll say so if you ask.

Guarantee it will be acceptedThe authority receiving it decides that, in their country, under their rules. We can say what is usually required and we follow their instructions exactly — but the decision is theirs.

Finish the job with a stampMany documents then need legalisation or an apostille, which is a government step on a government timetable. We arrange it; we do not control how long it takes.

A single signature  —  $95, and about twenty minutes
Each further document, same appointment  —  $45
A certified copy  —  $45 per document
Out of hours, or at your address  —  $180 plus travel, agreed before we set off
Legalisation or apostille  —  The government fee at cost, plus $80 for handling it
A document we've had to redo  —  Nothing, when it was our mistake — and we tell you whose it was
Fees are per appointment and quoted before you book. Government fees are shown separately, at cost, with nothing added to them.
