Giveaway
Entering costs you an email address. Referring costs you your friends' patience.
A giveaway is a shop buying a mailing list with a prize, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as it says so. This one does — what entry costs, what happens to your details, the actual odds, the referral cap, and the date the winner is named in public.
Entries close in
11days
23hrs
59min
59sec
1Entry per person, before referrals
5Extra entries maximum, so referring cannot be gamed
0Marketing emails unless you tick a separate box
1Winner, named publicly on a stated date
The second number is the one that separates a giveaway from a pyramid. An uncapped referral bonus is won by whoever is most willing to spam their friends, every single time.
What entering actually costs you
Nothing here is free, and a page that says "free entry" without finishing the sentence is hoping you will not do the arithmetic yourself.
Your email address, which is the real fee — That is what we are buying and it is worth roughly what a shop pays to acquire a subscriber. You are not receiving a gift, you are making a trade, and it is a reasonable one at this price
Your friends' patience, if you refer — Every referral link you send spends a small amount of goodwill that belongs to you rather than to us. Five is the cap partly for fairness and partly because more than five would be us spending something that is not ours
About ninety seconds — One field and a confirmation click. If a giveaway needs a form longer than this, the form is the point rather than the prize
Not your phone number, your birthday or your address — None of it is needed to run a draw. We ask for a delivery address from the winner, after they have won, and from nobody else
Not a purchase, and that is not generosity — See the rules section — in many places a draw you must buy into is a lottery, and that is decided by law rather than by us

What happens to your details
The entry list and the mailing list are two different lists — Entering puts you on the first one only. Joining the second is a separate box, unticked, and skipping it does not reduce your chances by anything
If you do not tick it, we delete you after the draw — Within thirty days of the winner being announced, entry list and all. A giveaway that keeps non-subscribers indefinitely has quietly converted an entry into a subscription
We do not sell or share the entry list — Not with a partner, not with a co-sponsor, not as "our giveaway partner will also contact you". If a draw has a second brand attached, that brand should be asking for its own consent
Referred friends are added to nothing — Their address is used once to check the referral was real, and then dropped. This is the line worth checking on every other giveaway you see — most referral mechanics exist precisely to harvest the referred address
You can withdraw before the draw — One email and you are removed and deleted, including any entries your referrals earned you. No form, no retention question
The winner's details are used to send a prize — And for nothing else. Winning is not consent to be marketed to either

How to enter
One field. You will get a confirmation with your referral link in it, and that email is the only one you will receive unless you asked for more.
Enter the draw
One entry per person, not per address — Duplicates from the same person across several addresses are removed before the draw, and we publish how many were removed
Up to five extra entries from referrals — One per person who enters through your link and confirms. It stops at five however many you send, and the counter on your confirmation page says so
No "tag three friends" and no daily entries — Tagging strangers breaches most platforms' own promotion rules — their rules, not ours — and daily entries reward whoever has the most free time rather than whoever wanted the prize
Your referral link is yours and is not tracked beyond the count — We know how many people used it. We do not know who they are in any way that survives the check described above

The odds, and the winner
Published because they are knowable and because almost nobody publishes them. If a draw will not tell you how many entries there were, it is not because the number is small.
Last time there were about four thousand entries — So a single entry was roughly a one in four thousand chance, and the maximum six were about one in seven hundred. Replace with your own real figures — an invented number here is worse than no section
We publish the entry count on the day of the draw — Before the winner is named, so the number cannot be adjusted to flatter the result
Drawn by [your method], on a stated date — Name the method and the date. "A winner will be chosen" with no date attached is how a draw quietly never happens
The winner is named publicly — First name and last initial, on this page, and told by email the same day. A draw with no published winner is not a draw anybody can check
No reply in fourteen days and we redraw — And we say that we redrew. The second winner is announced the same way rather than replacing the first name quietly
The prize is the prize — No cash alternative, no substitution, and no runner-up consolation code — a discount is not a prize, and offering one to everybody who lost is just a sale with extra steps

The rules that are not ours to set
No purchase necessary, and the law decides that — In many places a prize draw you must buy into is a lottery and needs a licence. We are not being generous, we are staying legal, and any promotion implying otherwise is worth a second look
Open to [where], because postage and law both differ — State it plainly. Entrants from somewhere you cannot ship to, or cannot legally run a draw in, should find that out before they enter rather than after they win
Age limit — State yours and state why it is what it is — some prizes carry their own legal minimum and that one is not a choice either
Employees and immediate family are excluded — Standard, boring, and the absence of it is what makes people suspect a draw was not real
Platform rules apply on top of ours — Any social platform sets its own promotion terms and they override what a brand would like to do. That is their call, not ours, which is why nothing here asks you to tag anybody
Full terms in one place — Link them rather than scattering conditions across a page. Anything material to whether you would enter should be above this line anyway
