Family law · first consultation $150

Whatever's happened, there is a next step.

We handle separation, children and money — quietly, at your pace, and with the cost written down before anything begins. The first conversation is confidential whether or not you go ahead.

What we help with

Separation & divorce

The process end to end, including the paperwork nobody explains.

Arrangements for children

Where they live, time with each parent, schools and holidays.

Finances

Property, pensions, maintenance and how a settlement is reached.

Protective orders

Urgent applications where someone's safety is the immediate issue.

Mediation

An alternative to court, with us advising you alongside it.

Agreements

Cohabitation, pre-nuptial and post-separation agreements drafted properly.

How it starts

You get in touch

Form, phone or email. Tell us as much or as little as you want to.

First consultation

An hour, fixed fee, in person or by video. You do most of the talking.

Options in writing

What could happen, what each route costs, and how long each one takes.

You decide

Instruct us, go to mediation, or do nothing for now. All three are fine.

Court fees and any expert's fees are separate and shown to you before they're incurred. Eligibility for legal aid is decided by the legal aid body, not by this firm — we will tell you if we think you should apply and where to do it.
What happens to what you tell us
Your first call — Confidential, whether or not you instruct us
Who sees your file — Your solicitor and one assistant. Nobody else
Your partner — Is never contacted by us without your instruction
Post and email — Sent only where you tell us it's safe to
The one exception — Where a child or adult is at risk of serious harm, we may have to act
If you'd rather not leave a written record anywhere, call instead — we can take everything by phone.
She explained the same thing three times without once making me feel stupid, and told me plainly which parts were going to be slow.

Client, separation matter

They quoted a fixed fee, gave me a written estimate for the rest, and I always knew what the next letter was going to cost.
