The door on the left is unlocked from first light until late. People come in to pray, to sit somewhere quiet, or to look at the building — and none of those needs arranging with anybody first.

Prayers

Fajr — Before sunrise
Dhuhr — Just after midday
Asr — Mid-afternoon
Maghrib — At sunset
Isha — Once the sky is fully dark
Jumu'ah — Friday, 1:15pm — the khutbah starts on time

The five daily times move with the sun and change every single day, so this page carries the pattern rather than the clock. The board inside the entrance is the authority. Replace this panel with your own live timetable before publishing.

If you've never been inside one

You can just come in — The door on the left is open. You don't need to ask anybody first
Nobody will approach you — Sit at the back and watch. If you'd like to talk to someone, ask at the desk
What to wear — Something covering shoulders and knees. There are scarves by the door if you'd like one
Shoes — Off, on the rack. That is the only rule anybody will ever mention to you
Nobody will ask you for money — Not at the door, not during, not on your way out
You can leave whenever — Mid-prayer, mid-sentence, no explanation. People do it constantly

This section exists because the commonest reason people never come in is not knowing what happens if they do.

Where the money goes

The building — Heating, repairs, the water bill, and the carpet nobody thinks about
The imam and the staff — Salaried, and the figures are in the annual accounts
The food bank — Run from the back hall on Wednesdays, open to anybody at all
The weekend school — Including bursaries, so the fee is never why a child doesn't come
Zakat, kept separate — Its own account, spent only on what zakat may be spent on, reported separately
What none of it goes on — Anything political. Not a penny, and the accounts will show you that

The accounts are published once a year and you can ask for them at any point without giving a reason. If a place of worship won't show you where the money went, that is worth noticing.

Gifts keep the building open, the food bank stocked and the weekend school running. Any amount, once or whenever you're able.

Choose zakat on the form and it goes into the separate account rather than into general funds. Giving is never expected of visitors, and nobody here will know whether you did.

The food bank

Wednesdays, from the back hall, open to anybody who needs it. No referral, no form, and nobody asks what happened.

Weekend school

Saturday mornings for children, with bursaries so that the fee is never the reason somebody isn't there.

The women's circle

Thursday evenings upstairs, in the hall with its own entrance. Run by the women who go to it rather than for them.

Funerals, at any hour

Ghusl and janazah arranged for anybody who needs it, whether or not they ever came here. The number on this page is answered at night.
