Per kWh, never per minute — a slow car should not pay more for the same electricity. Idle fee of $0.35 a minute starts ten minutes after your car stops charging, and it exists to free the bay, not to earn money. We would rather it never applied to you.
Why your car won't take the headline speed
The number on the unit is its ceiling — It is what the charger can give, not what your car will accept
Your car has its own limit — Plenty of excellent cars top out around 50 to 100kW. That is the car's design, not a fault at our end
A cold battery charges slowly — In winter, set the destination in your car's navigation — most will precondition the battery on the way
Above 80% it slows right down — Deliberately, to protect the battery. The last 20% can take as long as the first 80
So stop twice, briefly — Two stops from 20 to 80% beat one long stop to 100% on almost every journey
A busy site shares power — Some cabinets split their output between two bays. If the site is quiet you get the lot
None of this is in the small print because none of it is our secret — it is how every charging network and every electric car on the road behaves.

Contactless

Tap to start, tap to stop. Your bank shows a pre-authorisation first and settles at the real amount.

Lit and covered

Lighting, cameras and a canopy over the rapid bays. Charging at 11pm should not feel like a decision.

An accessible bay

Wider space, kerb-free approach and a lighter cable on the unit nearest the entrance.

Somewhere to be

Every site is beside something open — a 24-hour shop, a diner or a supermarket. Forty minutes is a long time in a car park.

Both rapid connectors

CCS and CHAdeMO on the rapids, tethered. Type 2 sockets on the fast posts — bring your own cable.

Fixed, not logged

Faults are alarmed to us the moment they happen, and the site with the fault comes off the map until it works.

If a charger doesn't start
Try the other bay first — It sounds obvious and it solves it about half the time
Unplug fully, both ends — A handshake that failed will not retry until the cable is properly out
Ring the number on the unit — A person, not a queue. Most faults are cleared remotely in a couple of minutes
A failed session is refunded automatically — Within about five working days, without you asking. If the electricity did not flow, you do not pay for it
Blocked by a petrol car? — Tell us the registration and the site. The bays are enforced by the landowner and it does get dealt with

Report a fault, or talk to us

Landowners: a site needs parking for four cars, a grid connection nearby and somewhere open next door. We survey free and pay rent per bay.
